T-SHIRT GSM
OPTIONS EXPLAINED

Jersey weight defines how a t-shirt drapes, holds print and survives a wash cycle. Below is the working range we knit and cut in Istanbul, and what each weight is designed for.

A 180 GSM tee is soft, drapey and light on the skin, ideal for warm climates or ultra fashion pieces where the fabric is almost transparent by design. A 200 to 220 GSM tee is the everyday brand basic: enough body to hold shape after ten washes, still comfortable in summer. A 240 GSM tee crosses into premium territory with a heavier hand feel and a stronger silhouette; this is where boxy oversized cuts start to work properly. A 260 GSM tee is a true heavy jersey, structured, boxy on the shoulders, and increasingly the flagship of modern heavyweight streetwear brands.

COMBED, RINGSPUN,
ORGANIC OR RECYCLED

The right cotton fibre defines both hand feel and how a shirt ages. Every fibre below is available in the same 150 piece MOQ.

01

COMBED COTTON

Short fibres removed before spinning. Smoother, softer, less prone to pilling. Our default for premium basics and brand tees. Available across all GSM ranges.

02

RINGSPUN COTTON

Continuous spinning technique that twists fibres tighter. Delivers a softer, more durable yarn and a cleaner print surface. Standard for elevated streetwear tees and long lasting brand blanks.

03

ORGANIC COTTON

Grown without synthetic pesticides or GMO seeds. Documented under the Organic Content Standard (OCS) with transaction certificates issued per shipment for retail buyers who require chain of custody proof.

04

RECYCLED & BLENDS

Recycled cotton and recycled polyester blends certified under RCS. Also cotton elastane blends for stretch tees, and cotton polyester blends for tri-blend heather looks.

Direct-to-film and direct-to-garment digital for complex, photographic and short-run designs. Sublimation on polyester blends.

FROM SKETCH
TO PRE-PRODUCTION SAMPLE

A tee looks simple on paper, but the difference between a mediocre t-shirt and a great one is written into a dozen small decisions: rib collar height and elasticity, shoulder tape width, side-seam vs tubular body, single or double stitched hem, garment dye or reactive dye, neck drop shape. We validate all of these in a fit sample before bulk cutting.

Step one: you send a tech pack, reference garment or sketch. Step two: our merchandising team confirms fabric, GSM, cotton fibre, fit and construction and returns a costing within one working day. Step three: fabric is dyed to Pantone TCX/TPX, a fit sample is knit and sewn, and shipped for approval within 10 to 14 days. Step four: revisions if required, then a pre-production sample sealed as the master. Step five: bulk over 6 to 8 weeks with AQL inspection at every stage.

Lab dips for every fabric colour are returned to the client for approval before bulk knitting or dyeing begins. If you supply your own colour standard (Pantone chip or physical swatch), we match to that reference within delta E tolerance.

Wash tolerance and dimensional stability are validated on every fit sample so that the tee still fits after ten domestic washes. Common finishing options include silicone soft finish, enzyme wash, garment dye, pigment dye and pre-shrunk treatment. Neck rib tapes are checked for spring-back after wash to prevent stretched-out collars, and side seams are checked for twist to prevent the shirt spiralling around the body after a couple of wear cycles.
